Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking a Communications and Web Program Coordinator.  The incumbent will (a) be responsible for all web design and development for website and digital media; (b) be responsible for content development, look, layout, functionality, and features of the ASU Vietnam Project websites and other media platforms; (c) plan and execute design, maintain and upgrade digital services, and stay up-to-date with new media trends and technology; (d) serve as lead on developing and maintaining project tracking for major ASU Vietnam marketing initiatives such as the development of a new website, social media, and other digital channels to build awareness of ASU in Vietnam and broader SE Asia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintain and improve the website, enhancing the site as a showcase for ASU’s and specific project vision, mission and initiatives.
  • Develop content by coordinating with director and communications team; work with graphic designer to brainstorm and implement images, icons, banners, multi-media enhancements, in accordance to brand guide requirements. 
  • Collaborates with marketing team to produce polished, attention-grabbing communication content for internal and external messaging including newsletters, email campaigns and social media posts.
  • Update and keep the website current, including requesting and posting news, events, features and conferences
  • Plan site design and functionality; design and install and securely maintain technical infrastructure; ensure cross-platform compatibility;
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure digital media users have excellent user experience, using analytics and research to make sure we are effectively communicating with our digital audiences.
  • Act as marketing/communication liaison on all IT and technology teams and meetings, keeping an open flow of communication on new web tools and databases.
  • Protect online properties by installing security precautions and following best practices for development and maintenance.
  • Maintains proper documentation in support of websites and digital infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support in the production of multimedia-based layouts, graphics design concepts, videos and sound.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Web Design, Graphics or closely related field and one year of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

DESIRED QUALITICATIONS

  • Experience in web design and user experience
  • Experience with social media content, blog posts, newsletter creation and other content generation

  • Experience with Google Analytics or Google Data Studio
  • Experience in multimedia content development 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign.
  • Demonstrated experience with content management applications such as Drupal or Wordpress.
  • Experience in web programming skills including: html, css, javascript, php
  • Experience with modern javascript frameworks and responsive design
  • Demonstrated knowledge of browser capabilities in multiple platforms

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
  • Regular review of completed tasks for achievement of established objectives.
