A five-day intensive course with instructors from Oracle Academy introducing project-based learning techniques in teaching foundational Java courses to institutions part of BUILD-IT.
After completing this course, faculty participants will leverage project-based learning techniques, ultimately enabling students to create and work with projects which challenge them to learn the concepts of Java programming, design object-oriented applications with Java and create Java programs using hands-on, engaging activities. Faculty will learn applied techniques to better introduce students to object-oriented concepts, terminology, and syntax, and the steps required to create basic Java programs. The goal is to bring in industry experience to the classrooms by enriching the faculty learning during these trainings.
The courseware is modular, enabling faculty to incorporate entire Oracle Academy courses or individual lessons or topics into their existing classes and programs of study. The courseware is also designed to be delivered as part of an academic program of study, has educational learning objectives, is mapped and aligned to many relevant standards and exams globally.
The course is ideal for faculty members who teach computer programming, information communications technology (ICT), or a related subject at a foundational level.
Refreshment will be provided. Attendees are responsible for handling their own transportation, accommodations and lunches.
