This course introduces faculty to basic relational database concepts. The course teaches relational database terminology, as well as data modeling concepts, building Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and mapping ERDs. Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler is utilized to build ERDs and The Structured Query Language (SQL) is used to interact with a relational database and manipulate date within the database. Oracle Application Express is utilized to provide practical, hands-on, engaging activities. Leveraging project-based learning techniques, participants will create and work with projects which challenge them to design, implement, and demonstrate a database solution for a business or organization.

- Essential knowledge and skills to prepare themselves and their students for the Oracle Junior Database Certification
- Basics relational database concepts

At the end of the workshop faculty will be able to:
- Utilize the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler to build ERDs
- Utilize Oracle Application Express to provide various practical, hands-on and engaging activities.
- Design, implement, and demonstrate a database solution for a business or organization
- Adopt OA curriculum in teaching database foundations
- Guide student to use OA online educational resources to learn and prepare for Oracle related database certifications
After this workshop faculty will receive:
