Instructors: Guest Panelists from BUILD-IT partner schools, Dr. Scott Danielson, Mr. Thai Tran, Ms. Ha Mai, Mr. Deren Temel.Attendees: BUILD-IT Partner Schools: Program heads/staff responsible for industry interactions.Expected Outcomes: Both AUN-QA and ABET expect programs to engage representatives of business and industry as stakeholders. These important stakeholders should provide the program feedback on the program, its curriculum and important graduate knowledge, skills and abilities. Presenters will review the purpose and benefits of creating and sustaining industry relationships via a program industrial advisory board IAB). The webinar’s focus is on the tactical relationships appropriate to programs (as compared to strategic relationships appropriate for an institution). The webinar encourages developing an IAB that strengthens stakeholder involvement in a program by seeking their feedback on program educational objectives (educational goals or aims of the program), student outcomes (ELOs), curriculum topics and important skills and abilities of graduates. The benefits of such industry representative engagement will be discussed. Guest speakers from Vietnamese engineering or engineering technology programs with experience starting an IAB will be featured, adding a Vietnamese context.
