After completing this workshop, participants will be able develop or improve develop rubrics for assessing student learning via a variety of types of direct evidence (e.g., student exam problem, student project, student report, student presentation, teamwork, etc.). Workshop leader will guide participants in rubric development exercises, using two types of rubrics. Then one or more IUH lecturers will present a rubric they developed and participants will use the rubric on a piece of provided student work. Following this use, faculty will suggest ways to improve the rubric. The learned skills will enhance faculty capabilities in rubric development for assessing student learning and enhance program capabilities towards better teaching and successful AUN-QA or ABET accreditation.
