Crafting an Assessment Framework in an Online Environment

Overview: In this two-part workshop, the main focus will be structured around the topic of assessment in an online environment and some of the best practices that can be deployed in this emerging teaching modality in Vietnam. This two-day workshop will help faculty to reflect on their current assessment techniques and to identify some hurdles that they see in applying these methods in a digital environment.

As the workshop progresses, faculty will have the opportunity to discuss with their colleagues some of the challenges and opportunities they have identified in terms of applying both formative and summative assessments in an online environment. Faculty will explore multiple possibilities to improve their assessment strategies and learn about different tools and applications that can help with improving their pedigree in online education.

 

Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, faculty are expected to be able to:

  • Identify and deploy strategies to use in formative and summative assessment
  • Reflect on, alter, and apply current assessment methodologies into an online delivery format.
  • Identify, use, and leverage digital resources in order to help them develop their online
